Mitch’s 1290 KTM Super Duke

Mitch’s 1290 KTM Super Duke

With the semester coming to a close, work has been piling up, so it was nice to get away for a bit to shoot something. Mitch reached out a while ago for a shoot but the weather and our schedules haven’t been so cooperative. We finally had a morning of sun to play with.

I had an excellent time camping out in the ditch waiting for that beastly sounding V-Twin to make its way through the twisty backroads. I’d pull over in a safe spot, ask him to do 4 or 5 passes while I crouched on the ground.

I shot a lot of the shoot severely underexposed, which for my D610 isn’t the worst thing, but for some, it affected the tones of the trees and road enough that I binned a lot of the shots.

Shooting in the trees, I’m lucky his bike has mostly matte surfaces. Like every vehicle shoot I do, I always forget to bring my CPL filter. The shiny bits were lit nicely by the sky and the reflection of the trees on the surfaces of the bike aren’t too distracting. Looks like this one came out on top.

Enjoy,
